HEALTH IS THE MOST |
The reason why we have been rather quiet lately is that our beloved Bryte was very unwell. We are not sure if it is an odd form of encefalitis or a brain tumor, but now after his partial recovery, we know one thing - we will enjoy all the time with him that remains, even though there is no telling how long that may be.

WORLD DOG SHOW AMSTERDAM |
This year the World Dog Show was a bit different for us - we did it the comfortable way and we flew, no stress as we did not compete. We had a great time in Amsterdam and that was especially thanks to our wonderful friends from all around the world, whom we loved seeing after quite some time again.

ALIKISS BEAGLE PARTY |
For the occasion of the first Birthday of Alikiss H litter we decided to host a special Alikiss Beagle Party. 18 people and 12 dogs got together at our house. We enjoyed the whole day very much - we had a barbeque and chatted all day. A part of the dogs (youngsters) were playing, while the other part (oldies) begged for food. Before desert (carrot cake) our guests split in four teams and were given a quiz, which was eventually easily won by team Bailey. At the end of the day we came to the conclusion that our dogs are the best and that Shely is the best Beagle mommy in the world and that we will turn the party into a tradition.

EDUCATION is key |
March has been a month full of education for us. At the beginning of the month I took part at a seminar of the ingenious animal trainer, František Šusta. And then followed up at two evening practical seminars again with František Šusta hosted by international judge Míša Čermáková, with the focus on positive reinforcement is show training. During the Easter weekend I had the honour to be the transalator and ring steward at the Rhodesian Ridgeback Club Shows under respected judge Alicia Hanna from the US (Kimani). Thank you to the RR club for giving me this amazing opportunity.

We joined other responsible breeders and proceeded with testing our breeding stock for Lafora epilepsy. Results came back excellent - N/N clear - this means they as well as their offspring cannot be affected by this disease.

Louie (Hajdum Dydlidum Alikiss of Divinebrae) - reserve / 4th place
After twenty years in Beagles I finally had the chance to visit the greatest dog show in the world, the famous Crufts dog show, which takes place every year in March in Birmingham, in Great Britain. I may have been even more excited about seeing Louie (we called him Baloo), whom I haven't seen for six months since he moved to Scotland. A huge thank you to his owner, for taking such great care of him and that she allowed me to show him on this special occasion. It was an amazing experience!
